I’m a tough dog. When I see people, I bark at them. When I see other animals, I bark my lungs out and make like imma git them! But the one thing I’m a total chicken about is thunder. I am so afraid of thunder. The other day I was out pooping and peeing, and I heard a human making noises on the other side of the fence. I barked at them to tell them to shut up! Then I saw a squirrel and I barked at it to tell that squirrel to shut up! Then I heard thunder and I ran to the closed door, pushed it open with my head, and ran inside to the safety of my mother’s arms. Yeah, yeah.. shut up!

It rained last night. Not just any light rain. It rained hard. And it thundered. Really loudly. And there were huge flashes of lightning. I couldn’t sleep a wink! I kept mom up with my crying and whining all night. I’m sorry.. I’m scared of these things! Burglar? Monster? Giant squirrel? I got that covered. But the sound of thunder? I run for cover!!!

Rain today. Yep. You know what that means. Thunder! And you know what thunder means. I’ll be hiding under the bed or in the closet until mom gets home from work. Why must she always be gone during the day when the thunder comes! It’s so scary at home without her. I guess I’ll hide in my tent until she gets home from work. Hurry, mama!

It was rainy and thundery this evening when mama came home. I was so scared of the thunder I didn’t even want to pee, but mom nudged me so I tinkled under the tree. But there was no way I was gonna poop! I put my tail between my legs and ran for the back door! I wouldn’t even eat my delicious dinner because I was so scared. But mom sat on the floor next to my dish and hand fed me a few bites so I’d finish the bowl. I’m glad she did that because I was honnngry! We just went out for my nightly poo, and I didn’t want to pee this time either, but I put on a brave face and did my business. But that was it.. I wanted to go back in! Mom knew I had to go #2 (because I didn’t go earlier and because I ate a big dinner!) so after we made a few circles in the backyard, I popped a squat and pooped a big poopy!!! I was so happy I was done and we went back inside the house! Now it’s sleepy time for me!

Ahoy! It rained and thundered today. I was super scared and I cried. I hate the sound of thunder! And to make matters worse, some crazy people set off fireworks and it was so loud and totally uncalled for! Fireworks in May? That is ridiculous! Fireworks should never be set off … ever! And if they are set off, they should be silent. Or they can sound like squeaky toys. But they should not be allowed to sound like thunder! No, thanks!!

EEK! It rained today, and I am a super scardy-cat when it comes to hearing thunder. I don’t like to see lightning either, but it’s the booming echo of thunder I am most afraid of. Even if the skies are clear, I will be too afraid to go outside to pee or poo if I hear the sound of thunder grumbling in the distance. I am so afraid of it that where ever mom goes, I sit to the side of her furthest away from the window.. under a table or even behind the toilet! Sometimes when there’s no cover, I will run under the bed and stay there for hours. Yep, I’m not ashamed of it.. I’m totally chicken!

Gotta run (and hide)!
